It’s been 4 weeks down and this is probably our most boring weigh in to date.
So this post is where we update you about how we’ve been eating, exercising, and sticking to our plan throughout the week. It’s where we demonstrate if we’ve actually been disciplined or if we were simply all talk
Food: How’d We Do?
Khaleef: Eating last week was pretty good. Here is an example of one of the meals (actually, several meals) that we had last week:
I eat best when we have our food already prepared. So doing this a couple of times a week makes it much easier to stick to a plan. The tricky part is when I’m either forced to or choose to deviate from the plan. Here was my plate at our ThanksLiving day homegroup meeting for church:

So this was one of the times where I had to eat away from home. Even though I knew I would be eating there, I didn’t know what to expect. It was a Thanksgiving themed potluck meal and I had to be careful not to over-indulge. As someone battling a food addiction, I am happy with the way I handled myself during the week.
Sherrian: Alright, I didn’t eat as well this week. I went over my calories one day this week and I did eat chinese food – at least it was only wonton soup and chicken wings. I also have been enjoying those little Danish butter cookies that you get at Christmas time. Sigh. Even though I’ve been within my calorie limit with them, it still feels like I haven’t been trying as hard as I could because of these factors this week.
Exercise: How’d We Do?
Khaleef: I wanted to walk at least 6,500 steps for at least 5 days last week. I not only was able to reach my goal, but I did it by hitting my daily goal 5 days in a row!
Let’s see if I can do something similar this week.
Sherrian: I still suck… let’s not. Please. No.
Sherrian: I gained a pound this week. Yes, I suck. Do I think it is because of the sodium-filled chinese food or the Christmas cookies? Possibly. It is also that T.O.M. so I expect things to be a bit wonky. Yeah, let’s blame it on mother nature. Sure.
Khaleef here: I wasn’t able to weigh myself either on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning. I had too much going to and was rushing when I could have had a chance. So this week will go on record as if the scale didn’t move for me.
You Want To Lose What?
You read that title correctly. We want to lose 250lbs combined. Once we are both comfortable with sharing our weight, then we will talk about how that goal breaks down between the two of us.
We have now lost 17.6lbs as a couple and have 232.4lbs to go in order to hit our goal.
So now this blog has turned into the story of us losing 250lbs while paying off over $100k of debt at the same time!
Next Week’s Focus:
Sherrian: Not suck like this week.
Fat Guy (Khaleef is boring): I still want to get at least 6,500 steps in at least 5 days. I would also like to get in at least one cardio session so I can figure out what kind of exercises I can do that won’t cause my back to seize up – I just have to take a break from working and make time for this).
