It’s time for another weigh in. Before we get to that, let me give a brief recap of my week. I had my follow up visit with the doctor, so if you haven’t read about that already, you can do it now.
His initial diagnosis is tendonitis in both shoulders. I received two cortisone shots so far, and I am taking an anti-inflammatory daily.
Since I am not able to do any strength training, I have been running daily. In fact, I was able to jog for 5 miles a couple of days last week! Here is a video that I made for one of those runs (and why water almost made me sick):
As you can see, jogging is becoming easier for me, and I hope that it will have an impact on the scale. I ran for a total of 18.7 miles between my last 2 weigh ins! I’m not sure if I am still willing to say that I hate running, but there is still a strong dislike. 😉
I tracked my food every day last week, and I felt good about my choices. I had to fight temptation daily (multiple times a day, actually), but I didn’t let it get the best of me! Actually, I did have one night where I gave in to the urge to eat garbage…of course, I made a video about my night of weakness:
I started making videos of my meals, workouts, weigh ins, and other things that come up regarding health and nutrition – so it’s time for a quick link to my YouTube channel.

I had a loss of 3.2 in the previous week, so I am really hoping to record two losses in a row. If that happens, then I will be convinced that I broke through the plateau! Here are the numbers (if you want to see the details for all weeks, just click here)…

I lost 1.2 lbs in the last week. Even though I wanted a larger loss, I am still happy with a 4.4 lb loss (I mistakenly said 5 in the video) in the past two weeks.
I think it’s safe to say that I broke through the 250 lbs plateau. Now I need a big loss next week in order to have a chance at beating my “Fit for FinCon” challenge (to lose 15 lbs by 9/6/12)!
I am going to the doctor next Monday (after my weigh in) to determine the next step for both of my shoulders. I can tell you now that the left one feels fine, and the right one feels much better (but not completely healed). Looks like I may be getting another cortisone shot.
My 38-week weight loss total is now at 42.2 lbs, and 47.2 lbs from my all-time high.
