Wow, I can’t believe it’s time for another weigh-in. I didn’t have a great week as far as working out or eating. I had a few late nights, which made it impossible for me to wake up at 4:30am. Also, I managed to have pizza 3 days in a row – I got an extra slice by accident when they messed up my order, so I had a leftover slice for the next day; then I had it again on Saturday!
Overall, I still managed to eat well, and I felt energetic each day.
More Energy
That is probably the biggest change in my life so far…I have lots of energy! I’m up at 4:35 most mornings, and I don’t feel tired or run-down until I’m ready to go to bed at around 10 or so.
I’m constantly bouncing around, stretching, or shadow boxing at work or at home. I am annoying my coworkers (especially Hypermommy
) with all of my movement. I was probably the most lethargic person you could ever meet until I started working out consistently, and changed my meal plan; so it’s a little shocking for me to have all of this energy all of a sudden.
I’ll probably write a post and go into more detail about this one day.
Loose Clothing
Yes, now I am noticing that many of my shirts and pants are very loose on me. I’ve even been able to break out a couple of shirts that I haven’t worn in a few years, because they were too tight! I still see this big belly when I look in the mirror, but my body is definitely smaller than when I started this 10 weeks ago.
I can actually take off my jeans without unfastening them!
I hurt my hand while moving a desk at work (nothing too serious, once I stopped the bleeding) and I was afraid that it would stop me from working out this week, but it hasn’t!
Up To A Mile
I’m now running/walking 1.1 miles each morning before my workout. Don’t get impressed or anything; it takes me close to 20 minutes to do it, since I take a few 15-second (sometimes more) walking breaks.
I hope to be able to do it without walking within the next week. I’ll let you know how that goes and what my time is.
100 Push Ups Challenge
I posted more videos from my 100 push ups challenge – including my nemesis, The Crazy Runner, and my own fat guy push ups. We are now up to 19 challengers (a new person joined the other day), and I have already seen progress in some of their second videos.
Now On To The Weigh In
Week 0 (First Weigh In) – 287
Week 1 -280.0
Week 2 – 279.2
Week 3 – 278.0
Week 4 – 276.4
Week 5 – 270.8
Week 6 – 269.0
Week 7 – 267.4
Week 8 – 266.6
Week 9 – 262.4
Week 10 – 261.2
So, I was able to lose 1.2 lbs over the past 7 days. This brings my 10-week total to 25.8 lbs, and I’m now down 30.8 lbs from my all-time high!
I still have a long way to go, but it still feels great that 10 weeks after I started, I have lost over 25 lbs! Once my weight drops consistently under 250, I will be even more motivated.
For all of you out there that set a weight loss goal, how are you doing?

I think you are starting to see the benefits of keeping fit. By now, you formed better habits and it is just a matter of keeping it up. Good job!

Working out and eating better definitely feel like habits now. I know that with all of these changes, I ‘should’ continue to see results!
Thanks for the constant encouragement.
Although my weight loss was smaller, I can relate to what you are going through. shortly after I lost the weight I was with friends skiing and one of them called me skinny. It was the highlight of the trip.

You’re doing better than me! I still have like 9 pounds to lose in the 10 pound challenge

You still have a lot of time. I am behind in your challenge as well as my own push ups challenge! I can’t stand to lose, so I have to get in gear.
You are doing so great! I haven’t lost any weight yet but I do have more energy now that I’m eating smaller meals more often. And I am walking two miles a day.

Doesn’t it feel great to have more energy? 2 Miles is great…I’m not sure if I can do that!
Wow! Great job, Khaleef!!! I know we haven’t talked in a while but I just wanted to drop in and encourage you to keep up the great work. Blessings, brother!

Hey Paul!
Thanks so much for the words of encouragement! How is everything going for you? Are you still preaching regularly?
Yep, actually preaching tomorrow in fact. Things have been busy but good!

Great to see that you are keeping up with the plan. So many people stop after a few weeks but you are almost at 3 months so keep it up. I remember when I starting running before my workouts I would have to do the same things take walking breaks. There is nothing wrong with it in time you will be able to run the whole distance then increase it.

I am shocked that I can go this long. I think it may take a while before I can run a full mile without walking…I still hate running and I am much too fat for this!
Great job Khaleef! You’re making great progress! I’ve been working out now since the start of the year and I’ve lost about 5-6 pounds so far.. I’ve got a long way to go, but you’re giving me inspiration!
