I am excited about this weigh in, since I am hoping to reach a level which I haven’t seen since 2007 (when an illness caused me to lose 50 lbs in 6 weeks)! That is the last time my weight has been under 260 lbs.
I am trying to remember to keep small goals, and this has helped me stay consistent and disciplined for these past 11 weeks.
I am still noticing that my clothes are getting looser, and I am not as lethargic as in the past.
I have increased the number of reps per set, for a few of the exercises that I do in my morning workout, and I am consistently running (with some walking thrown in) at least 1.1 miles each morning.
The 100 push ups challenge is going great, with initial videos from all 20 challengers. Within the next week, I am going to start posting the 2nd videos, and I expect to see a lot progress!
Now On To The Weigh In
Week 0 (First Weigh In) – 287
Week 1 -280.0
Week 2 – 279.2
Week 3 – 278.0
Week 4 – 276.4
Week 5 – 270.8
Week 6 – 269.0
Week 7 – 267.4
Week 8 – 266.6
Week 9 – 262.4
Week 10 – 261.2
Week 11 – 259.0
So, I was able to lose 2.2 lbs over the past 7 days. This brings my 11-week total to 28.0 lbs, and I’m now down 33.0 lbs from my all-time high!
My next milestone is 250 lbs – I don’t know how I will react once I am consistently under that number (I doubt there will be tears
).
I know that I have a long way to go, but by setting these small goals, I can stay encouraged even when I only make small progress.
If you have weight loss goals, how are you doing? How are you staying motivated?

Thanks! It seems like I am creeping so slooooooowly toward 250…I am hoping to make a change that will speed things up.
33 pounds is awesome. You should be really proud of yourself. You are doing awesome and I know you will continue to do awesome.
Thanks Miss T! I really appreciate all of your support and encouragement.
I am hoping to look completely different in a few months!
So proud of you! I know how much this goal has meant to you
Thanks sweetheart!
You know how long it has been since I’ve seen 25x on the scale. I hope I can duck under 250 before this month is up!
Way to go!
Thanks Kelly…you’re the best EVER!!!
Once we all start working out together and I get my post-workout massages, this weight will start melting off!
I have a goal to lose weight this year but I’m not off to a good start. I’ve given up soda and started working out but I’ve made no progress. I think I’m eating more to make up for the soda cravings so I’ve got to start eating better. Also, my workouts are pretty easy right now since I’m just starting but I need to ramp up the intensity so I can actually see some progress.

My wife and I started mixing a light protein mix into our water to curb cravings for juice or soda. It has worked very well – it’s only 30 calories, has 5 grams of protein (so nothing crazy) and 6 grams of fiber! Give it a try: http://www.amazon.com/Kelloggs-Special-Strawberry-Protein-0-47-Ounce/dp/B000UPALKO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1329001660&sr=8-4 (I didn’t even insert an affiliate link, so you KNOW it must be good
)
Great job! That is excellent progress, and I know you will keep up the positive momentum!

Dang! I need to learn your motivation magic. I am at my heaviest ever and my doctor just put me on Lipitor … and I still can’t get my fat butt of the couch. I used to be pretty fit (if I may say so) but since we had our daugther, things are different. What’s your secret?
I just got tired of knowing exactly what to do but lacking the discipline to do it. Life is very short, and if we don’t take advantage of the time and health that God gives us each day, we’ll end up looking back on missed opportunities, and having a life full of regret!
This is why I started the push ups challenge on the site. Someone challenged me, and I thought it was a great way to get active. I asked a few people if they wanted to join, and now there are 20 people doing it. It only takes a minute or two each day to do a few push ups, and before you know it, you’ll be doing dozens per day! Maybe you can start with small goals such as that.
I know how hard this can be but it is so rewarding. I tried to get down to 180 lbs in 180 days. Now I am trying to eliminate my debt in 180 days. You have nailed it though. The key for me was weekly challenges. Check out my trials and tribulations: http://operation180blog.blogspot.com
Keep up the good fight!

Thanks for the encouragement, Adam!
I love the concept of your 180-day challenges. Congratulations on getting down to your goal weight. I plan to follow your journey through debt!
Great work – keep it up. I appreciate you posting your updates – keeps us all motivated.
Thanks Jason! What are some of your immediate goals?
Some of my immediate goals include some diet changes, especially kicking the diet soda habit and no more fast food. I travel extensively for my job, so fast food is a convenience thing. A financial goal for this year is to put a big dent in my mortgage balance – my last debt.
