I have been posting challenger videos for my 100 push ups challenge for the past few weeks. Now it’s time to put up the video of my direct challenger – The Crazy Runner! You may remember that she is the one who issued the original challenge a few months ago.
When I first started collecting videos, I asked her if she wouldn’t mind writing about her motivation for challenging me. Here is what she had to say:
The Crazy Runner Speaks
Mr. “Fat Guy, Skinny Wallet” asked me to do a guest post about my motivation for doing this push up challenge. I was flattered. But what do I say?! I don’t consider myself anyone special and I don’t know if there’s anything particularly special that i can add but I’ll give it a shot.
By way of introduction, I’d like to give you a little background on myself. I am a homeschooling mom. I also recently gave birth to a baby girl two months ago. It’s been 10 months since my last workout. I went for a run two weeks ago and I confess, it was TOUGH!
It’s hard trying to get into something you’ve been away from for so long. It’s frustrating when your body doesn’t seem to do what you want it to do and meanwhile, your brain is telling you to just quit. Has this ever happened to you?
So, here I am trying to start the journey of getting back into shape. The first thing I need is a goal. I’m a goal-oriented person and without goals, I probably would not get anything accomplished. Ta-dah! In comes the push-up challenge. The added bonus with this challenge is the accountability.
What better accountability can you get then a public website where you have to record your weekly updates for all the readers to see. I have to confess, this is rather humbling and I’m not excited about sharing my “lack of fit-ness”, but I am excited about the progress I hope to make in the next several weeks.
Speaking of accountability, I hope we can all do that for each other. Being surrounded by kids all day (literally), it’s hard to find time for myself and it’s easy to come up with excuses. I’ve been saying a lot of them this past week. It helps to have others encourage you to press on when you really don’t want to.
So, I hope that with this push-up challenge, we can all “push” ourselves to accomplishing a goal and in the meantime, encourage each other to that end.

My Thoughts About The Crazy Runner
I am really glad that she issued this challenge! Although, I am not looking forward to running a 10k if she wins 😯 . I helped her and her husband (Andy, who is also in the challenge) move recently, and she had more weights than I could count!
She is extremely motivated to get back into her “pre-baby” shape (running ultra marathons and doing other crazy things), and she has a reputation for not stopping until she demolishes her goals. A couple of people refused to be in the challenge once they heard that it was her idea, because they know how fierce and committed she can be (especially when the goal is extreme)! That’s a little scary.
I am beginning to think that I picked the wrong nemesis. Actually, she picked me. Either way, I now have an ultra-competitive nemesis, and I need to pick up the pace if I am to beat her.
Now on to her stats and video…
Name: Crazy Runner
Height: Not Given
Weight: Not Given
Reason for joining the challenge: “Strength training.”
# of Consecutive Push Ups: Watch the Video!
Please note: If you are reading this through email or a RSS feed, you will have to click through to the website in order to see the video.
We are going to have to work on her form a little bit (she was leaning to the front, and didn’t go down far enough), but since this video is actually a month old, I’m sure she’s doing much better now.
Since she has earned the title of NEMESIS, I thought it would be fitting to post this video in her honor. I hope you enjoy it…
Be sure to cheer all of the challengers on, and give them encouragement and tips.
