Yesterday was the 12th day of the first Fat Guy Challenge, and Day 5 of our 2nd week!
After the first 7 days, I managed to lose 7.6lbs, without exercising at all. Hopefully, the results will be more dramatic once I add my daily workouts.
***[See how I did on the first 11 days of the challenge] – You can read our motivation for doing this, as well as the details of the challenge at the first link above. Our main goal is to lose 25lbs combined by June 4th, or there will be severe consequences! I am responsible for 15 of those pounds!***
Here is my assessment of day 12:
For the first week of the challenge, we decided to drastically reduce our carbohydrate intake to under 20 grams each day. Thankfully, that restriction was only in place for the first week. Now we are taking that amount up to 60 grams per day, with two “carb load” days each week.
Nothing new about my late nights and late mornings. I am constantly falling asleep around 1 or 2 am, and waking up around 6:30 am! Because of this, I don’t have time to eat breakfast at home.
Once I got to work, I realized that we didn’t have any water left (we have a water cooler) in our office. I ate a few almonds in the morning, and then walked over to the “grease trucks” with a friend, to get a bottle of water.
Then I had more of the beef cubes (a new term that I learned from my friend, Kelly), which my wife made in the crock pot. I quickly made a small salad that before leaving the house, and ate that with the beef.
I had to run to another office in the afternoon, so I didn’t eat any snacks before leaving work for the day. My wife bought a stuffed chicken meal from Costco last week, and she heated it up for dinner. It was chicken breast stuffed with broccoli, cheese, and something that looked like caraway seeds(something used in rye and other breads). It was extremely good, and we may decide to buy more!
I only drank about 48 oz of water yesterday, because we didn’t have any at work. I usually drink about 96 oz by the time I leave work!
My sleep schedule is making it impossible to work out. I am really going to try and force myself to go to sleep by 9:30 tonight, so I can work out in the morning.
There was no temptation at all to eat out yesterday! I am so excited that while I stood by the grease trucks, watching everyone enjoy their subs, I didn’t get tempted at all!!
We just took care of business and God blessed our efforts to be disciplined. <— I am hoping to be able to write that phrase every day of this challenge!
Day 13 Preview
You may remember my sentiments about pizza from the other day…”I really think that pizza is one of the miracles of God’s creation! Only three basic ingredients, but it tastes so amazing!!!”
Well, we are having a lunch meeting at work today, and I think we are having pizza. Unfortunately, we are having the meeting at a remote location, and I won’t be able to bring lunch with me. I still have to decide how I am going to handle this.
