Today was the 13th day of the first Fat Guy Challenge, and Day 6 of our 2nd week! It’s almost the end of another week!
After the first 7 days, I managed to lose 7.6lbs, without exercising at all. Hopefully, the results will be more dramatic once I add my daily workouts.
***[See how I did on the first 12 days of the challenge] – You can read our motivation for doing this, as well as the details of the challenge at the first link above. Our main goal is to lose 25lbs combined by June 4th, or there will be severe consequences! I am responsible for 15 of those pounds!***
Here is my assessment of day 13:
For the first week of the challenge, we decided to drastically reduce our carbohydrate intake to under 20 grams each day. Thankfully, that restriction was only in place for the first week. Now we are taking that amount up to 60 grams per day, with two “carb load” days each week.
I had to give someone a ride to work today, so I managed to get out of the house on time. Unfortunately, I didn’t wake up with enough time to pack anything more than almonds and water.
I had a couple of almonds for breakfast, and then I went to the lunch meeting which I told you about on Day 12. As I suspected, we had pizza for lunch at the meeting.
The good thing about this was that the slices were so tiny (about the size of Domino’s pizza), and the crust was as thin as possible! I felt like I was eating one of my homemade pizzas on the thin wraps. In face, they were so small that just about everyone else went up for a 3rd slice (even my 5’6″, 105lbs coworker); and someone actually had 4 slices!
For an afternoon snack, I had the rest of my almonds and more water. Since those tiny slices put the taste of pizza in my mouth, I came home and made some, using the ultra thin wraps. I put some of the beef on it as well, and it was good; but I didn’t need the beef (pizza needs no enhancement).
I only drank about 48 oz of water today, because I was out of the office for a few hours.
My sleep schedule is making it impossible to work out. I wanted to go to sleep by 9:30 tonight, so I can wake up in time to work out in the morning, but I wasn’t finished with something important. Hopefully, I can go to sleep in a few minutes and still wake up by 6 am.
There was no temptation at all to eat out today! I am happy that I only had 2 slices, while everyone else had either 3 or 4 (partly because they ran out of plain slices)!
I definitely didn’t have an urge to buy anything – especially since we are trying so hard to pay off debt!
We just took care of business and God blessed our efforts to be disciplined. <— I am hoping to be able to write that phrase every day of this challenge!
