Yesterday was the 16th day of the first Fat Guy Challenge, and the 2nd day of our 3rd week! That means that we are more than halfway through this challenge.
After the first two weeks, I managed to lose 6.6lbs, without exercising at all. I got in a good workout during the first day of the 3rd week, so hopefully, I’ll see better results!
***[See how I did on the first 2 weeks of the challenge] – You can read our motivation for doing this, as well as the details of the challenge at the first link above. Our main goal is to lose 25lbs combined by June 4th, or there will be severe consequences! I am responsible for 15 of those pounds!***
Here is my assessment of day 16:
For the first week of the challenge, we decided to drastically reduce our carbohydrate intake to under 20 grams each day. Thankfully, that restriction was only in place for the first week. Now we are taking that amount up to 60 grams per day, with two “carb load” days each week.
I knew that we (my office) were planning to take our coworker out for lunch (she just retired), so all I packed were almonds. For breakfast, all I had was water!
Then we went out to Chili’s, and I had an appetizer sampler – while someone was eating a big, juicy, burger next to me. I had water to drink at the restaurant as well.
The desserts looked so good in the menu, but so would a smaller belly – so I passed them up! I ate my almonds for a snack once I got home from work.
For dinner, I made a pizza, since it only contains 15 grams of carbs! I stayed up late writing and reading, but I didn’t eat anything else after that. <—That’s good for me, since I’m the king of midnight snacks!!!
I drank about 3/4 gallon of water yesterday, being at the restaurant threw my exact count off a bit.
Yesterday, I woke up around 7:15, so there was no way that I could work out. Plus, I was so sore from the workout on Thursday, that I don’t know how much I could have done anyway!
Chili’s used to be one of my favorite restaurants when I was a musician. Also, when I was taking my tax preparation classes, I ate there every week! But, when I went there yesterday, I wasn’t even excited about it. All I could think about was beating this challenge and celebrating with my coworker. There was no temptation at all to spoil myself, or to throw away discipline.
