Yesterday was the 20th day of the first Fat Guy Challenge, and the 6th day of our 3rd week! That means that we are more than halfway through this challenge.
After the first two weeks, I managed to lose 6.6lbs, without exercising at all. I got in a good workout during the first day of the 3rd week, so I am hoping that it will kick-start my routine!
***[See how I did on the first 2 weeks of the challenge] – You can read our motivation for doing this, as well as the details of the challenge at the first link above. Our main goal is to lose 25lbs combined by June 4th, or there will be severe consequences! I am responsible for 15 of those pounds!***
Here is my assessment of day 20:
For the first week of the challenge, we decided to drastically reduce our carbohydrate intake to under 20 grams each day. Thankfully, that restriction was only in place for the first week. Now we are taking that amount up to 60 grams per day, with two “carb load” days each week.
Yesterday, my day started out as usual. I went to bed late the night before, and then didn’t have time to workout in the morning. So, I had my normal breakfast of water and almonds. Then for lunch, I had mixed vegetables with beef cubes. In the afternoon, I drank more water and had a few more almonds.
Once I got home, my wife helped me prepare lunch for today, and then I had dinner. She baked salmon with mixed vegetables, and it was very good. Then later in the evening, I had a few crackers with cheese and 1 strawberry as a snack.
I had close to a gallon of water yesterday, and I think that I’m back into my old habits.
Yesterday, I woke up around 7:15, so there was no way that I could work out. I wanted to do it when I got home, but the combination of extreme humidity and a bunch of other priorities stopped that. My plan is to work out tonight and tomorrow morning.
I didn’t face any temptation yesterday – even though I didn’t have much to snack on during the day.
Change In Plans
We have decided to change things up a little, and I hope to post details about that later today.
