Yesterday was the 26th day of the first Fat Guy Challenge, and the 5th day of the 4th week! That means that the challenge is almost over!
After the first three weeks, I managed to lose 9.6lbs, with only minimal exercise.
***[See how I did on each day during the first 3 weeks of the challenge] – You can read our motivation for doing this, as well as the details of the challenge at the first link above. Our main goal is to lose 25lbs combined by June 4th, or there will be severe consequences! I am responsible for 15 of those pounds!***
Here is my assessment of day 26:
For the first week of the challenge, we decided to drastically reduce our carbohydrate intake to under 20 grams each day. Thankfully, that restriction was only in place for the first week. Then we moved that amount up to 60 grams per day, with two “carb load” days each week.
Now, we have decided to count calories, and to keep track of certain macro and micro nutrients as well. I think that this is a better overall approach, and it will ensure that we are not going too far in any particular direction.
After my workout I had my normal fruit smoothie with Green Vibrance Powder, Special K2O Strawberry Kiwi Powder, and Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Milk. Then I had oatmeal with ground flaxseed (which we buy whole and grind using a hands-free coffee grinder), in order to get in a good amount of fiber!
Then we went to a cookout at a friend’s house. I had a few baby carrots, broccoli, and cucumber slices, with a vegetable dip. Then, I ate a cheeseburger and a hot dog along with 3 mini samosas.
Once we got home, we did another workout and had a bunch of water. I wanted a snack, so I had cherries, strawberries, and dark chocolate chips.
Because of the two workouts, I know that I had more than a gallon of water!
Yesterday, we decided to make the most of my day off, so we got in an early workout. We did the Leslie Sansone’s Walk Slim – 4 Fast Miles DVD, which is a 46 minute workout. Much too long for my taste – but since intervals really help your body to burn fat, I’ll put up with the time!
I spent much of the day sweating in the hot sun, so I was drained when I got home. However, since I am trying to make weight loss a priority, I still did the Debbie Siebers’ Slim In 6 workout! I felt great after doing the workout, and had a lot of energy.
That made 4 workouts in 3 days…I hope I can keep this up!
I didn’t face any temptation yesterday, even though the idea of getting another burger and/or dog crossed my mind a few times. Since we only have a few days left of this challenge, I want to be sure to give it my all.
We just took care of business and God blessed our efforts to be disciplined. <— I am hoping to be able to write that phrase every day of this challenge!
