I’m starting to think that my friends like showing up in my posts. I have a coworker who knows that I own KNS Financial, but doesn’t believe that I’m Fat Guy. So now I am supposed to write about her without using her real name, and on top of that, she won’t let me post one of her pictures from the wedding in India. Hopefully, she’ll believe me now ;-)! She actually lost about 30lbs in a few months, but she’s too shy to write about her story on the site (maybe you can encourage her in the comments).
Okay, now to the main event…me!!!
Today was the third day of the first Fat Guy Challenge (the hilarious Bill Cosby video is enough of a reason to click on the link ;-))! This will be the last time that I tell you about the funny video – it’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
[See how I did on the first 2 days of the challenge]
You can read our motivation for doing this, as well as the details of the challenge at the link above. Our main goal is to lose 25lbs combined by June 4th, or there will be severe consequences! I am responsible for 15 of those pounds!
Here is my assessment:
For the first week of the challenge, we decided to drastically reduce our carbohydrate intake to under 20 grams each day. I met my goal today, and it was much easier than the first two days.
We had an early appointment this morning, and then we went to Casual Male XL so I could buy a pair of jeans. Can someone tell me why they changed their name from Big and Tall? Do they really think that carrying a bag with a huge “XL” on it is better than one that says “big”?
Anyway, I hate spending money on clothing – I think I’ve only purchased one thing since a $400 “shopping spree” in 2006 – and it took a while for me to find a pair that felt right. Just one of the consequences of being a whale trying to wear jeans!
Because of this extra trip, we didn’t eat breakfast today. For lunch, I made a turkey wrap with cheese. Don’t worry, I didn’t use any mayo, and the wrap only contains 10 grams of carbs! Then, a few hours later I had a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter – which I snacked on for about 3 hours. Then I made scrambled eggs for dinner.
Since we got such a late start to eating today, I didn’t drink a full gallon of water as I normally do.
We still haven’t started our workout routine – that will probably begin on Monday.
I may decide to run through my alternate workout plan tomorrow evening, depending on a few other factors.
There was really no temptation to eat out today! We just took care of business and God blessed our efforts to be disciplined.
