Today was the 6th day of the first Fat Guy Challenge. I returned back to work even though my stomach still felt a little tender. I knew that I wouldn’t have a lot of time to prepare a proper lunch, but I still made due.
***[See how I did on the first 5 days of the challenge] – You can read our motivation for doing this, as well as the details of the challenge at the link above. Our main goal is to lose 25lbs combined by June 4th, or there will be severe consequences! I am responsible for 15 of those pounds!***
Here is my assessment of day 6:
For the first week of the challenge, we decided to drastically reduce our carbohydrate intake to under 20 grams each day. Even though my day was completely thrown off by how I felt, I was still able to meet my goal.
I packed an individual serving of string cheese to eat for breakfast this morning, but once I got into my work, I forgot all about it. So, I had a serving (approx. 28 grams) of almonds around 11:30 this morning. Then for lunch, I packed the rest of the salad from Shoprite and some beef that my wife made in the crock pot the night before.
However, I was full from the salad. Then I had some chicken Vienna Sausages with mustard in the afternoon, followed by another serving of raw almonds before leaving work at 5:30.
Since I didn’t eat the beef for lunch, I had it for dinner with bleu cheese. The beef was sooooooooooooo good 😀 …I told her that she needs to make more right away – let’s see if she does or not.
So far, I’m at 96 oz of water (3/4 a gallon), but I hope to drink another 32 oz by the end of the night.
I am hoping to get to bed early enough to be able to work out tomorrow morning, but since it’s already 10pm, this may have to wait until Thursday. We still have to pray together and have bible study this evening.
Another day in which there was no temptation at all to eat out…or even get some chocolate from the vending machine. However, a friend that I work with tried to get me to go look at some cookies and brownies this morning! I told her that I was going to write about her tempting me, but I wont’ mention her name…this time. I try to be nice to pregnant women ;-)!
So, besides that brownie fiasco, there was no temptation to cheat! We just took care of business and God blessed our efforts to be disciplined. <— I am hoping to be able to write that phrase every day of this challenge!
One More Fat/Grease Picture
Okay, do you remember how I told you in the day 5 update that we made burgers on our George Foreman Grill and put them on top of a bed of lettuce? I then showed you a picture of the tray that catches all of the fat and grease that runs off of the grill.
Well, I let the grease cool before discarding of it, so I could get a better picture of it. That is what you see in the main picture above! Now, try to imagine drinking it. I can’t believe that we put that type of stuff in our body regularly.
Have a great night!
