So I have officially decided to join the Yakezie Challenge with this site. Some people already know that I own a small business (KNS Financial, LLC), and I run the Faithful With A Few blog on that site. Well, I have made great strides with that website, and that is because God has really blessed me with an incredible wife, and also because I am a member of the Yakezie Network!
Therefore, I have decided to join the Yakezie Challenge with this site as well.
What Is The Yakezie Network?
This is a group of the best Personal Finance blogs and Lifestyle writers who agree to “selflessly promote” one another! One of the main goals of the challenge is to get your Alexa ranking under 200,000 within 6 months. Actually, just cracking 200k is not as special as it used to be, so I’m aiming for 100,000 (my main site is at 43,612 – maybe I can catch it
)!
What is Alexa?
For those who don’t know, Alexa provides a great toolbar for your browser that incorporates search, top news, and website information for free. They then rank websites based on how many Alexa toolbar users visit the site.
How does Fat Guy Skinny Wallet rank in Alexa?
When I first set up the site, my ranking was about 5 or 6 million! As of today, it is 437,998.
I love Fat Guy Skinny Wallet, what can I do to help?
Awww, such kind words! Here’s what you can do:
- Install the Alexa toolbar to your browsers, on every computer that you use to visit this site
- Visit this site often – you may even want to make it your homepage!
That’s it! If you want to check my traffic rank, just check the Alexa badge on the right side of this site. Then be sure to click it and leave a review of this site!

Welcoming FGSW to the Yakeie challenge! I’m rooting for you to meet your goals – you can do it man!
Thanks Tim! I plan to update my progress here regularly.
I am really excited about reading you regularly on a second site. This topic really hits home to me because I lost over 100 pounds after college and I have been trying to pay down my student loans (with much less success) ever since then too. Best of luck, I hope this site is just as successful as the first. By the way, I really like the graphic art header. If you get the chance sometime, shoot me an email sometime and explain how you did that.
Thanks BP! I think it’s great that you lost over 100 pounds…sounds like a potential guest post (after I build up an audience to read it, of course)!
My wife actually created the header and logo – send me an email so I don’t forget to ask her how she did it.
You are rocking it with the Alexa! I will definitely come back regularly to check on your weight loss progress. Lord knows, losing weight is one of the hardest things to do! At least for me!
I will be cheering you on!
Lisa @ Cents To Save recently posted..The Saved Quarter Challenge Week 6
Thanks Lisa! It has been extremely difficult, especially because I’ve been able to hide behind various excuses.
I plan to post weekly updates with my weight and other things, and then maybe monthly with measurements.
