You may have noticed that I haven’t written about my workouts in a while. Well, that is because I haven’t been able to workout since I wrote about my first battle with Debbie Siebers! I will keep having weeks like this unless I can focus more on time management.
Why I Need Better Time Management
I have so many things going on in my life right now, that it is becoming extremely difficult to add any new activities. My main job is usually busy, and it has been more hectic than normal – our office was flooded and we are working from a remote location.
I currently offer professional tax preparation and financial consulting as a part of my small business. Also, I have been writing a lot of “tax help” articles lately for my main site, and I have been busy writing articles for my three staff writing positions each week!
We are also taking a membership class at our new church (complete with reading and homework), and trying to make strong efforts to get to know our new church family!
There are other things going on, but I think you get the idea…I am extremely busy all the time!!! This is why I need to give more thought to time management.
I now have to fit about an hour of working out and stretching to my already overstuffed day! I also have to give more time to keeping track of the food that I eat, and making sure that I am constantly challenging my muscles in my workouts.
Time Management Will Eliminate Excuses
One of my dearest friends (actually more like a sister), asked me about the lack of progress with this site and if that meant that I hadn’t made any progress with my workout.
I then began to whine to her about my busy schedule expecting a lot of sympathy (she is a social worker!)! Instead, she told me that I have no excuses and that I need to follow through on my goals and make better priorities! I definitely didn’t get the love and care that I was looking for!
I was a little disappointed that she didn’t allow me to use my schedule as an excuse, but I know that she is right!
I won’t broadcast her name all over the internet (this time
), but she knows who she is! So now I have been challenged once again to organize my time more effectively – I hear this from my wife constantly.
I will make sure that I only put my focus and energy toward those things that I call priorities (although, I think that’s what I’ve been doing), and I plan to update this site every day, even if it’s just to say that I ran out of time!
