Too Much Traveling, Broken Routines, And My Week 33 Weigh In

Weigh In

The last two weeks were rough. During the first week, my wife was out of town until Wednesday evening. Then, my great-grandmother passed away on that Tuesday, and we had to drive over 10 hours away on early Saturday morning to attend the funeral. We didn’t get back until the middle of last week – which explains why there hasn’t been much activity on the site recently, and why I missed my week 32 weigh in.

Because of all of this traveling and the disruption of my normal routine for two weeks, I wasn’t able to continue with the new workout. However, I still managed to do a workout (similar to my “marine workout”) while in the hotel each morning. I actually recorded a video right after one of my hotel workouts…

I did something a little different for this weigh in – I actually record myself stepping onto the scale so you can see the number for yourself. So, I am hoping that you don’t just scroll down to the bottom of the page (yes, that means you, Jessica), but actually watch the video to see what the scale has to say.

Anyway, on to the video and then to the numbers…

And here is a direct link to the video on YouTube

I have become a lot more active on YouTube (I’m posting daily videos now), Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, so be sure to connect with me there. I plan to post a lot of small updates, health tips that I learn, good articles, and other things that don’t warrant a full blog post, onto those sites. Be sure to leave comments so I know you’re there.

I had no idea what to expect from the scale this time, but after the stretch that I’ve had over the past few weeks (actually, 5 or 6 weeks), I didn’t think it would be good. I’m actually a little shocked that it wasn’t higher. Here are the numbers (if you want to see the details for all weeks, just click here)…

Now On To The Weigh In

Week 0 (First Weigh In) – 287

Week 4– 276.4

Week 8 – 266.6

Week 12 – 258.6

Week 16 – 256.0

Week 20 – 258.0

Week 24 – 253.8

Week 28 – 248.0

Week 31 – 249.4

Week 33 – 250.2!!!

So, I gained 0.8 lbs over the past 2 weeks. I am actually quite happy with that, considering everything that went on. I am still trying to catch up with a lot of things right now, so I haven’t been able to work out much this week, so I don’t even know what to expect on Monday. However, I have been eating pretty well this week (you can see everything that I’ve eaten during the week on my YouTube channel), so I am hoping to drop back under that dreaded 250 mark.

This brings my 33-week weight loss total to 36.8 lbs, and 41.8 lbs from my all-time high.

Your weight will fluctuate! I stopped weighing myself years ago because after you reach your goal it doesn’t matter. Whenever my pants feel a little snug or I know I went off, I get back to my normal eating and exercise. When my wife and I go on cruises, we go to the gym every day.

Yeah, once I get to where I’m fit and healthy, I won’t weigh myself anymore. My weight is the only thing I’ve been consistent with tracking, since I haven’t taken many pictures or measurements.

I’ve been keeping track of my weight still even though I switched to monthly updates. I’m hovering around the same weight still but slowly headed down. I think you’re doing pretty good for all of the circumstances of travel and such you’ve been through recently!

I was just talking to someone about how weekly updates may be too frequent for them. It can make this feel like a race or something. It’s good that you’re still moving in the right direction.

HAhaha! You caught me; I totally scrolled to the bottom to see the results and THEN read the post only to be embarrassed that you called me out for doing what I just did ;) I promise from now on I will read/watch the full post. Great job on maintaining through all this busy-mess-ness.

Hahahaha…I figured that you would still scroll down :-)

Hopefully, week 35 will look much better (I don’t have much confidence for the next one).

Great job in keeping the gain to a minimum!
I hadn’t weighed myself for the pat two months… because I was convinced that I’d gained weight (lots of summer BBQ’s and girly drinks). I finally mustered up the courage to weigh myself yesterday… and lo and behold I’d lost 4 pounds! That totally made my day!

Thanks Julie! Look at you, you lost weight without even paying attention to it. ;-)
