Here we are after another week of trying to work toward my health and fitness goals for 2014. This was a very busy week (as usual) and much of it was a blur, but I will try my best to give you an update on how things are going…
A Recap Of The Past Week
I honestly don’t even remember the details of last week, but I do believe that I got into the gym once, attempted to work out at home (but my back didn’t let me), and went out for 1 run.
It was a tough week of sleep, but not because I was having trouble falling asleep. Even with sleeping for 4-8 hours on most nights, I woke up feeling extremely tired, sleepy, exhausted, and any other word you can think of to describe not being physically or mentally alert.
Because of my tight lower back and other muscular imbalances, I did a bunch of mobility work several times a day. I think the tightness in my back is really due to tight glutes and hamstrings and weak hip flexors. I did a lot of targeted exercises, foam rolling, and myofascial release on my glutes with a tennis ball.
I am still not in good enough shape to work on my powerlifting, but I am hoping that another few days of my mobility work will fix that. With the weather getting consistently warm, I am hoping to catch up on my 500-mile running challenge!
I ate very well for the entire week and although there were a few moments of temptation, I was able to stick to my plan. We got back to cooking in bulk and that made a huge difference in the composition of my meals during the week.
We are actually planning to do an elimination diet in the near future, but we plan to write a detailed post about that.
Week 15 Weigh In
Last week I weighed in at 237.0, which was a loss of 1.2lbs from the previous week. This week when I weighed myself, I was…
I had a small movement on the scale in the right direction, so that’s always a good thing. I am looking forward to moving some heavy weight again and also to consistently running outdoors.
If you haven’t had a chance, be sure to read about the progress that I am making with the testosterone replacement therapy – I also added a table of all of my test scores so you can see them all in one place!
