Here we are again. This is the first weigh in that I’ve done in my new weight loss year. If you haven’t seen it already, be sure to check out my reflections on a year of weight loss. I have tried to be as open, honest, and transparent as possible about my weight loss journey over the past year. Enough about the past, let’s see what happened over the last 3 weeks (yes, I know that’s the past as well, but you know what I mean 😎 ).
I spent Thanksgiving weekend with my in-laws down in Florida. We had a great time with my wife’s family (who happen to love to cook); but I was worried about how much time I would be able to devote to working out, and how well I would be able to eat. Fortunately, we were down there for almost a full week, which meant that we had some free time before everyone arrived.
I was able to run every day while down there (even on Thanksgiving), and I got in a great workout on a couple of the days as well. I put together clips of each day in my first weigh in video of my new year:
As you can see from the video, I managed to lose 4 lbs during the week of Thanksgiving. I was able to eat extremely well on most of the days, and I didn’t overeat on Thanksgiving or the day after (but I did have dessert on both days).
My birthday was the day that I weighed in after Thanksgiving, so there was the temptation to overeat then as well. My wife and I went to one of our favorite restaurants because we had to take my car in for repairs and we had to wait a few hours. We were pretty disciplined that day, and I even managed to get in a great workout and run.
The rest of the week went fairly well with eating, but I was not able to get to bed early enough to wake up at 4:30 to work out. That is probably why I only saw a small loss over that next week.
The next week (the one that ended on Tuesday) went very well until the weekend. I actually saw 234 on the scale before the weekend came. I didn’t get any sleep and my eating wasn’t as strict as it was during the week. I go into a lot more detail in this video:
Here are my numbers for the last 3 weeks, along with my starting weight.
11.19.12 – 241.0
11.26.12 – 237.0
12.03.12 – 236.2
12.11.12 – 236.2
I’ve been challenged to a mini duel by Julie Wilson (my crazy staff writer) this week, so I’m hoping for a big loss. I HATE losing, and I really don’t plan to…especially to someone who’s almost at her goal and doesn’t have much left to lose.
There are a lot of things going on with my websites and business right now, and also with things at home and at church. Because of that, I need to incorporate some serious time management methods in order to stay on track.
